General Christos Christodoulou is the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) since the 25th of January 2019. General Christodoulou was born in Drama. He joined the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1977 and graduated in 1981 as a 2nd Lieutenant.

As a senior Officer he has served in several positions. From June 1998 until July 2000 he was Commander of the 111CW/330Squadron, from July 2000 until August 2002 a Staff Officer in the Plans Section at Reaction Forces Air Staff (RFAS) Headquarters in Kalkar, Germany, from September 2002 until September 2004 Operations-Training Director of the 115 Compact Wing and from March 2008 until April 2009 Commander of the Air Tactics Center.

As a general Officer his main duties were from March 2010 until March 2011 as Director of Hellenic Tactical Air Force (HTAF) Operations Branch (A), from March 2011 until July 2012 as Chief of Staff of the HTAF, from August 2012 until March 2013 as Deputy Chief of the HTAF, from March 2013 until March 2014 as Commander of the Hellenic Air Force Training Command, from March 2014 until March 2015 as Commander of the Hellenic Air Force Support Command, from March 2015 until January 2017 as Chief of the HTAF and from January 2017 until January 2019 as Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff.

General Christodoulou has more than 4600 flight hours. He has flown with T-41D, T-37B/C, T-2E, T-33A/B, F-5A/B, F-16 aircraft.

He has been awarded with military medals and distinctions including: Commander Breast Star of the Order of Honor, Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix, Medal of Military Merit 1st Class, Commendation Medal "Chief of General Staff", Commendation Medal "Star of Merit and Honor, Commendation Medal "Merit and Honor", Air Force Formation Command Medal 1st Class, Air Force Meritorious Command Medal 1st Class, Staff Officer Service Commendation Medal 2nd Class.

He speaks English fluently.

General Christos Christodoulou is married to Mrs Eftychia Biniou and has two daughters.
