COL Michail Giannopoulos
 

COL Michail Giannopoulos was born in 1964, in Neos Skopos, Serres, entered the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1983, graduated and named 2nd Lieutenant in 1987.

He has been promoted as follows:

            During his military career he has served in Combat Group and Wings, at the Hellenic Tactical Air Force (HTAF) HQ and at the Hellenic European Union Operation Headquarters (EL EU OHQ).


            Duties:

  • Squadron Leader and Test Pilot 337 F-4E for 2 years
  • Operational Planning Branch Chief at 110 Combat Wing for a year
  • Electronic Warfare Staff Officer at HTAF for a year
  • Electronic Warfare Branch Chief at HTAF for 2 years
  • Commander of HTAF Support Squadron for 2 years
  • TACEVAL Branch Chief at HTAF for a year
  • Director Ops & Trainning at 130 Combat Group for a year
  • Branch Chief of Multinational Exercises, Current Ops, SAR at HTAF for a year
  • ACOS CJ4 (EUFOR RCA 2014) at EL EU OHQ for 3 years
  • Intel Director at HTAF for 1 year

He has more than 3000 flight hours, and he has been flown by aircraft: T-41D, T-37B / C, T-2E, T-33A/B, F-4E.
