ΔΙΟΙΚΗΤΗΣ
Major General Dimosthenis VITETZAKIS

        Major General Dimosthenis VITETZAKIS was born in 1963, in Chania, Crete. He joined the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon), in 1981 and graduated in 1985 as Artillery 2nd Lieutenant.

            He has been promoted as follows:

          He has served in Artillery Battalions, Formations’ Artillery Commands, as instructor to the Hellenic Military Academy and the Artillery School, as well as Staff Officer in HAGS, 1st Army and the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands.

His main duties among other were:

  • Com, 95th Arty Bn for 2 years
  • Com, 196 Self-Propelled Heavy Arty Bn for 2 years
  • Com, 1st Army/Artillery Command for 1 year
  • Com, 79 Bde for 1 year
  • DCom, Artillery School for 1 year 
  • HAGS Training Directorate Deputy Chief for 1 year
  • HAGS Training Directorate Chief for 2 years (2014-2016)

            He has graduated all required Artillery Officer Training Courses, the Army Supreme War College and the National Defence College.

            He has also graduated the Athens Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies (Centre d'Etudes Diplomatiques et Stratégiques - CEDS) and the Department of Strategic Information of the Joint Information Academy

          He has been awarded all medals, decorations and commendations stipulated for an officer of his rank and seniority.


            He is married and has a daughter.
